Hi and welcome to the “Self Help4u blog. My name is Carole Zirlin and I am the founder of the “Self help for you” website and blog. This is my very first blog ever, so please bear with me while I learn.

It’s a very exciting time because the website and blog are about to be launched and in the next few blogs I will tell you all about us. Let me start by telling you a little bit about the website just to avoid any confusion. Although I am a CBT psychologist by profession, on the website I am more of a CBT tutor who will be teaching you all the precious techniques and passing on all the experience and expertise I have gained teaching CBT.

The site is not a therapy site, it is a learning and inspirational site where you will get practical help dealing with your depression, anxiety and stress. My hope is that you will be able to learn much of what you need to know through the self help program and the additional self help videos.

How will you achieve all this? Well, when you visit the website you will see that apart from this blog, there is a forum, a library of self help articles as well as many self help videos, but central to the site is a very comprehensive self help program teaching you CBT techniques. (Google CBT)

The program (which currently costs $30.00) will teach you most of what you need to know about Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques. Perhaps you are not yet familiar with CBT as it is better known, but let me tell you that it is the therapy of choice used in helping people overcome the symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem, fears and phobia’s.

I myself have been using CBT with my patients for many years and even if I say so myself, CBT is one of the most successful and effective methods I have ever used in my practice. It has helped thousands of people overcome their symptoms and has been responsible for helping them re-gain control over their minds and lives. It really is that powerful.

As a therapist working within the Health Service in England some years ago, I learned how precious and wonderful these techniques are and yet too few people were able to access or benefit from them due to waiting lists of the health service, proximity or financial problems.

I decided to change all that. I would make a website where everyone and anyone COULD have access to learning these precious techniques called CBT techniques because they can be truly life changing if you suffer from depression, anxiety or stress related problems.

Yes, you can change your life once you learn how. And this is what the website is about; giving you the opportunity to benefit from learning CBT techniques from a psychologist who has been successfully teaching these techniques for years. You can learn how to get your life back in control (instead of life controlling you) while at the same time, ridding yourself of the difficult and painful symptoms you may currently be experiencing.

My hope is that apart from the self help program we together can build a beautiful community where we have compassion; where we inspire each other, listen to each other, and help each other, and where each one of us has a voice to be heard. This is what it’s about, community and healing.

I say we because I am also here to learn. We are all here to learn from each other.  I myself have been truly humbled through my work. I have been privileged to meet some wonderful and inspirational people  and hope to continue this inspirational journey with you, so please join me on the site and let’s all get to know each other.
